Irene D. Grano, 71, of Eagle River, Wis., died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, in the emergency room at Eagle River Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m., at Veedum Moravian Church in Veedum, Wis., with the Rev. Dave Sobek officiating. Burial was in the village of Port Edwards, Wis., Cemetery. The Buchanan Funeral home of Pittsville, Wis., handled arrangements.
Irene (Itzen) Grano was born May 20, 1928, in Veedum, Wis., the daughter of Edward and Ruby (Koppen) Itzen.
She was educated at Veedum and graduated from Pittsville High School as salutatorian of her class. She worked for the railroad before marriage.
She married Charles Grano Dec. 26, 1946, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. After marriage she was a homemaker.
The Granos lived in Pittsville, Wis., until 1954, then moved to Nekoosa, Wis., and in 1995 to Eagle River, Wis.
Irene was a member of Veedum Moravian Church and its Ladies Aid. She enjoyed doing craft work.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Grano of Eagle River, Wis.; one daughter, Betty Jean and Louis "Doc" Eggers of DECORAH; one grandson, Scott Charles Will of Chicago, Illinois; and two brothers, Elmer and Genevieve Itzen of Nekoosa, Wis., and LaVerne and Ruth Ann Itzen of Pittsville, Wis.
Irene Grano was preceded in death by her parents and one sister in infancy.
