Levi Stack

Levi Stack, 82, of Lake Delton, Wis., died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at the Wisconsin Dells Health & Rehabilitation Center following a lengthy and courageous battle with chronic illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Sept. 27, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in the Wisconsin Dells with the Revs. John Slowey and Peter Szleszinski co-officiating.

Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery in Anoka, Minn., Tuesday, Sept. 28, at noon. The Picha Funeral Home of Lake Delton, Wis., handled arrangements.

Levi owned a number of successful businesses, beginning with a building demolition and lumber company in Superior, Wis. in 1944. He and his family then moved to Rice Lake, Wis., where he operated Stack's Office Supply from 1948-52.

He moved his office supply business to DECORAH and operated that until 1959. He then returned to Rice Lake, where he operated Stack's Men's Wear until his retirement.

He had lived in the Wisconsin Dells area since 1981. Levi held memberships in Kiwanis, Lions Club, Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus, holding a fourth degree rank.

He and his wife, Veronica (Jendro) celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary May 23, 1999.

Survivors include his wife, Veronica; sons Daniel and Gina Stack of Portland, Ore., Robert and Marilyn Stack of Ormond Beach, Fla., Kenneth and Reidun Stack of Minneapolis; Minn. and Philip and Lois Stack of Hampden, Maine; brothers Joseph of Powell, Wyo., and William of Anoka; Minn.; sisters Kathleen Tweeten of Jamestown, Calif., and Winifred Starkweather of Tuolumne, Calif.; eight grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Levi Stack was preceded in death by his parents; brothers John, Glenn, Kenneth and Father Philip; and a sister, Mary Jo.
