William Heidenreich

Dr. William Heidenreich, 69, died at his and his wife home in Marquette Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999.

There will be no service. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien, Wis., assisted the family.

William was born Feb. 2, 1930, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Ethel and William Heidenreich.

He graduated from the Yale University School of Medicine in 1951, and received his Doctor of Medicine from Yale in 1955. He took his residency at the University of Chicago from 1956-1959.

William was married to Patricia Mawer of Oakville, Ontario, Canada in 1958.

He served two years in the United States Army in Panama, and was certified by the American Board of Radiology in 1960 and the American Board of Nuclear Medicine in 1976. After returning to the United States from Panama, he spent a year at West Haven, Conn. Veterans Memorial Hospital.

The couple then moved to Dubuque, Iowa where he practiced at Mercy, Finley and Xavier Hospitals. In 1978, the Heidenreichs moved to Cedar City, Utah, where he practiced at the Cedar City Hospital.

In 1981, they returned to Iowa, where William practiced at the community hospitals of Waukon, Elkader, Cresco, West Union and New Hampton. He retired from the medical practice in 1987.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; son Kenneth and Alice Heidenreich and their four children of Parowan, Utah; daughter Pamela Heidenreich and fiance Dave Kester of DECORAH; and sister Lois Beech of Des Moines.
