Leland Dralle

Leland F. "Lee" Dralle, 73, of Waverly, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999, at the University of Iowa Hospital from complications following surgery.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 10, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly, with the Rev. Michael Burk officiating.

Burial was at the Harlington Cemetery in Waverly. The Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly handled arrangements.

Leland was born Aug. 17, 1926, in rural Allison, the son of Henry and Lottie (Wessel) Dralle. He was baptized in October of 1926 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Allison and was confirmed March 26, 1952, in Vilmar.

He attended country school in Allison. Following his schooling, Leland attended welding school. In 1949, Lee became employed at the Shield Bantam Co. in Waverly.

On Oct. 7, 1956, he was united in marriage to Donna Tiemens at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Greene. The couple made their home in Waverly and Lee continued working at Shield Bantam as a welder, in the office, and later in the parts department, retiring in 1988.

Lee was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly. He enjoyed fishing and camping, as well as spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Waverly; his three children and their families, Diane Lea, Larry, Ryan and Jason Gass of Marion, Steven Lee, Sherri, Crystal and Nicole Dralle of Waverly, and Lisa Ann, Darwin, Andy and Ali Frana of DECORAH; four brothers, Harry Dralle of Clarksville, Floyd Dralle of Bristow, Albert Dralle of Waverly and Leo Dralle of Allison; and one sister, Viola Roberts of Grundy Center.

Leland Dralle wits preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John Dralle, Vern Dralle and a brother in infancy; and one sister, Lucille Cassman.
