Wayne Alton Anderson was born June 16, 1940, in Cresco, the son of Henry and Norma (Wangsness) Anderson. He was confirmed May 15, 1955, at the Ridgeway United Lutheran Church.

Wayne graduated from the Ridgeway High School in 1958 and then joined the United States Marine Reserves.

During his working life, Wayne was self-employed as a construction contractor, and subcontractor, and in sales and management, with the Pacific Mutual Door Company. For the last 13 years, he had been with the State Dept. of Military Affairs at the Truax Air Guard base, at Madison, Wis., a career in which he took great pride and enjoyment.

He was a talented carpenter and cabinet maker. Wayne also served as a board member on the East Side Alano Club and oversaw the club's recent remodeling project.

Wayne enjoyed life and people, always available to lend a hand or a sympathetic ear. His grandchildren added joy and pride to his life.

In his youth, he raced stock cars and remained an avid race fan, organizing many race trips for family and friend. His loyalty to the Minnesota Vikings never failed, even while surrounded by throngs of Green Bay Packer Fans.

Survivors include his wife, Karon of Waterloo, Wis.; three sons, Steve and Robin Anderson of St. Paul, Minn., Eric and Jill Anderson of Eau Claire, Wis., and Brian and Rozlyn Anderson stationed with the United States Air Force in Okinawa; six brothers and sisters, Helen Gullickson of Madison, Wis., Norvin and Diane Anderson of Decorah, Verne and Marianne Anderson of Madison, Wis., Lorna and Jerry Engen of Blaine, Minn., Jeanne and Mark Peterson of Hiawatha, and Ila and Rick Barber of Hanover Park, IL.; four grandchildren, Kristen, Darren, Tyler and Megan; an aunt, Florence Albertson of Spillville; and many cousins, nieces and nephews, and other friends.

Wayne Anderson was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cindy; a brother-in-law, Norman Gullickson; and a great-nephew, Casey Rowin.
