Robert Pecinovsky

Robert W. Pecinovsky, 74, of Protivin, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Memorial services were held Sunday, Feb. 28, at 4 p.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, with the Rev. Allen Schmitt officiating. Readers were Carl Pecinovsky, Susie Pecinovsky, Ann Zajicek and David Zajicek. Gifts were carried by Ryan, Daniel and Sara Pecinovsky. Servers were Eric Newman and Kristi Stejskal. Lori Pecinovsky sang "Amazing Grace" and Lori Ann Pecinovsky read the verse, "Heaven."

Honorary pallbearers were the 21 grandchildren. Inurnment was in the church cemetery.

Robert was born in Howard County, near Protivin, March 8, 1924, the son of Alois J. and Lucy (Houdelka) Pecinovsky. He attended rural school and helped on the family farm.

On Sept. 10, 1946, he and his wife, Mary, were united in marriage at Holy
Trinity Church in Protivin. They made their home on a farm outside of Protivin.

Robert was a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Church in Protivin. He also belonged to the Holy Trinity Czech Choir and the Knights of Columbus. His hobby was carpentry.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; nine children, Sylvester of Sumatra, Indonesia, Clair of Cresco, Lois Zajicek of Ossian, Theresa Coleman of Portland, Ore., Michael of Protivin, Chris of Mabel, Minn., Peter of Marktredwitz, Germany, Cathy Newman of Mabel, Minn. and Robert of Kissimmee, Fla.; 21 grandchildren; three sisters, Sylvia Pecinovsky of Cedar Rapids, Mildred Peterson of Stewartville, Minn., and Irma Meyer of West Concord, Minn., and an aunt, Arlene Wilson of Protivin.

Robert Pecinovsky was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Steven.
