Gladys Dresselhaus

Gladys Dresselhaus, 90, of Decorah, died Wednesday March 3, 1999, at the Aase Haugen Home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6, at 1 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul McDonald of the Christian Life Center officiating.

Elnora Dresselhaus will be the soloist.

Casket bearers will be Gavin Spilde, Larry Spilde, Jerry Stortz, Bob Lien, Kenneth Nordheim and Kermit Nordheim.

The Fjelstul Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, with burial at the Canoe Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 5, from 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home, and Saturday, March 6, one hour before the service at the church.

Gladys (Nordheim) Dresselhaus was born May 21, 1908, in Canoe township of Winneshiek County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Nordheim.

She attended rural schools in Winneshiek County and lived as a farmer's wife her adult life in Canoe Township.

Gladys married Elmer Dresselhaus June 13, 1931, at the First United Methodist Church parsonage. She was a member of the Christian Life Center of Decorah.

Survivors include her two sons, Richard and William, both of San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Gladys Dresselhaus was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; and one son, Elton.
