Julian Moe
Julian Moe, 82, son of John O. and Anna (Ness) Moe, was born January 15, 1909, at Ossian, IA. He died Tuesday, December 31, 1991, after a short illness at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital, Decorah.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 3, 1992, 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Decorah, with the Rev. Glenn Kappelmann officiating. Mark Baumann, was organist and music was furnished by the congregation. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery. French and Balik Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Paul Amundson, Harold Amundson, Robert Larson, Roger Huinker, Lester Guttebro and Erling Bilden. Honorary pallbearers were Alvera Wise, Bea Strinmoen, Virginia Berg, Mildred Christren, W. D. Willer, Ethel Kvammen, Naomi O'Neil, Timothy Lynch, William Ronan, Durwin Tweet and Neil Stoan.
He attended the Ossian Schools and the Minneapolis School of Business, Minneapolis, MN. He served from 1932-1946 as Winneshiek County Clerk of Court, and was an officer of the Decorah State Bank from 1946-1975. He was an active member of the First Lutheran Church, Decorah and belonged to several other lodges and organizations.
He was married to Ellen Bilden on August 29, 1934, at West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont, IA. They had a daughter, Helen.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen, and daughter, Helen Barth, Lindstrom, MN, two grandchildren, John and wife, Kathy, Minneapolis, MN, and Juliana and husband, Todd Gulliver, Clear Lake, IA.
