Lillian Ethel Noecker
Lillian Noecker, 90, of Decorah, died Thursday, April 19, 2001, at the Oneota Riverview Care Facility.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 22, at 2 p.m., at Decorah Lutheran Church with the Rev's Jame Glesne, Bryan Robertson and Ole Winter officiating.
Organist was Kathy Murray, and the congregation sang "In the Garden'', "Abide With Me" and "Crown Him With Many Crowns."
Casket bearers were Michael Benzing, Mitchell Benzing, Nicole Benzing, Vicki Perez, Brian Losen and Ryan Holmes.
Burial was in Russell Cemetery and Fjelstul Funeral Home of Decorah handled arrangements.
Lillian Ethel Noecker was born May 20, 1910 to Anton and Jennie (Brandt) Johnson of Decorah.
She was a graduate of Decorah High School and then taught in rural schools in the Decorah area and worked at the Green Parrot Restaurant in Decorah.
She married Norman Noecker Jan. 15, 1942 in Rochester, Minn. He died Nov. 10, 1999.
Lillian Noecker was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church and was involved with church circles.
She had been a resident of Oneota Riverview Care since April 20, 1995.
Survivors include daughter, Kristi and Dennis Benzing of Decorah; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren and two sisters, Virginia Volkering of Decorah and Dodie Snow of California.
Lillian Ethel Noecker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter Karen Noecker on Nov. 7, 1984 and one sister, Almedia Barth.
