Darian Bea O'Connell

Darian Bea O'Connell, 3-month-old daughter of David and Karla O'Connell of Hesper, died at home of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Saturday, Oct. 23,1999.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m., at Hesper
Lutheran Church in Hesper, with the Rev. Hans Floan officiating

Thelma Korsness was the organist. Music included the hymn "Children
of the Heavenly Father," "Amazing Grace" by Brian Towne; "Tears in
Heaven" and "Baby Blue" on CD, and hymns "Now I Lay Me Down to
Sleep" and "Jesus Loves Me."

Mindy Roethler read the poem, "A Child Loaned".

Casket bearers were Brian Burkle, Brian Mensen, Jason Dighton and Mike Drees.

Interment was at the Hesper Lutheran Cemetery. The French & Balik Funeral Homa handled arrangements.

Darian was born July 15, 1999, in Des Moines.

Survivors include her parents, David and Karla O'Connell of Hesper, maternal grandparents Karl and Diane Christopher of Hesper, paternal grandparents Bill and Barb O'Connell of Manchester, paternal great-grandparents Ilene O'Connell of Earlville, and Eugene and Dorothy Fishel of Cedar Rapids; uncles and aunts Kirk and Teresa Christopher of Hesper, Kris and Robin Christopher of Hesper, Rob O'Connell of Manchester, Theresa O'Connell of Cedar Falls, and Bryan and Danelle O'Connell of Manchester; and cousins Kyle, Seth, Samantha, Cheyenne and Cole Christopher, and Blake and Bradley O'Connell.
