Karl Torgerson

Karl Torgerson, 85, of Burnsville, Minn., died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 29, at noon, at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 200 E. Nicollet Blvd.

Burial was at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. The Burnsville (Minn.) Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Karl was married to Lillian Madland Aug. 2, 1942 in Cottonwood, Minn.

He also served in the United States Navy as a lieutenant (junior grade).

He was a member of the Luther College Board of Regents, a controller at Luther College and at California Lutheran University, and a private business consultant specializing in taxes.

Karl was a tuba player with the Conejo Symphony Orchestra for several years.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian; daughter Karolyn of Hibbing, Minn.; sons Karl Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., Paul (Rebecca) of Woodbury, Minn., and Erik of Mauston, Wis; three grandchildren, Sara, Jacob and Rachel; and one sister, Henrietta Torgerson of Decorah.
