Lucille Anderson
Lucille Anita Anderson, 81, of Fort Dodge and formerly of Decorah and Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000 at Friendship Haven in Tompkins Memorial Health Care Center in Fort Dodge.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 7, at 2 p.m., at Decorah Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Tim Tostengard officiating.
Casket bearers were Scott Anderson, Wesley Hauser, Gordon Krambeer, Benjamin Sproston, Brandon Sproston and Brian Sproston.
Interment was at the Union Prairie Cemetery. The Fjelstul Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Lucille Anita (Johnson) Anderson was born March 4, 1918, in Decorah, the daughter of John A. and Martha (Helgeson) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at Canoe Ridge Lutheran Church.
She attended country schools in Canoe Township, was a graduate of Decorah High School and then attended college for one year to get a teaching certificate.
On March 12, 1937, Lucille was married to Clifford Alfred Bernard Anderson at the Decorah Lutheran Church parsonage.
Lucille worked at Decorah Produce and Bucheit Produce for many years, and was a waitress at Grosses in Decorah. She also worked at the Aase Haugen Home and the Eastern Star Nursing Home as a medical aide before she retired.
After retirement, the couple moved to Cedar Rapids, where they lived for many years. Then she moved to Eagle Grove, where she lived for one year. Lucille lived in Fort Dodge the past year.
She enjoyed listening to country music and dancing. Lucille was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church.
Survivors include four children, Gerald Anderson of Cedar Rapids, David and Dorothy Anderson of Eagle Grove, Carole and Ronald Krambeer of Cedar Rapids, and James and MaDonna Anderson of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Lucille Anderson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford, who died May 10, 1992; two brothers, Herman and Truman Johnson; two sisters, Palma Leister and Henrietta Johnson; and by one grandson, Jason.
