Marian Eickhoff

Marian (Frey) Eickhoff, 74, of Iowa city, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, at a hospital in Austin, Texas, following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m., at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Decorah.

Burial will be at the Haug Cemetery near Spillville.

The body was cremated in Texas. There will be no visitation prior to services. Balik Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.

Marian (Frey) Eickhoff was born Dec. 5, 1924, near Spillville, the daughter of Walter and Mary (Suchan) Frey. She graduated from Decorah High School and had attended the University of Iowa.

She had resided in Iowa City since 1974, having worked for the City of Iowa City, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, JM Swank Co. and Johnson County Headstart Program.

Her family includes two sons, Steven Eickhoff of Aberdeen, Wash., and Thomas Eickhoff of Round Rock, Texas; one grandson, Steven Eickhoff, two sisters, Jean and Lyle Cary of Decorah, and Joann Frey of San Carlos, Calif.

Marian Eickhoff was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
