Jessie Meikle Passes On.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon in the Community church in Frankville for Miss Jessie Meikle, aged 89, with the Rev. Robert Reynolds of Dubuque University. She had passed away at Postville Hospital Monday, May 9. Interment was in the Frankville cemetery.

Jessie May Meikle was born in Ludlow township, Allamakee county, on February 25, 1871, as the daughter of James and Margaret Meikle. She lived in Ludlow until 1900 and then came to Frankville with her parents. She cared for the parents until they passed away.

Miss Meikle joined the Frankville Presbyterian church on confession of faith August 5, 1891, at the time Rev. McClusky was the minister. Her parents were also members of that church. She was a member of the Willing Workers society of the church and a charter member of the W. C. T. U.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Maggie (Mrs. James Carter), Nellie (Mrs. Dighton Bray) and Eliza E. Meikle; also two brothers, Louis D. Meikle and Hugh B. Meikle. She is survived by three nieces and five nephews and their families.

Jessie was the oldest living member of the Frankville church, for many years and was always faithful in attendance and anxious to help in any project as long as her health permitted.
