Mildred McGonigle

Mildred "Jackie" McGonigle, 61, of Oelwein, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at her home of a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 10:30 a.m., at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein. The Rev. John Kerr will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the home after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will take place Tuesday at 1 p.m., at the Freeport Cemetery in Freeport.

Mildred Louise (Schneider) McGonigle was born Dec. 26, 1937, at Freeport, the daughter of William Henry and Vera Dorothy (Richardson) Schneider.

She married Paul Sylvester McGonigle Aug. 25, 1956, at Anamosa. Jackie was a homemaker and lived the last five years in Oelwein.

Survivors include her husband, Paul McGonigle of Oelwein; two daughters, Julie and Elsworth Manning of Oelwein, and Jeannie and John Steffen of Dubuque; four sons, Perry and Kathy McGonigle of Dubuque, Dannie Ray and Resa McGonigle of Lamptte, Mark McGonigle of Newton and Mike and Angela McGonigle of Des Moines; 29 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois (Mrs. Leonard) Steele of Ellsworth and Phyllis Banning of Oelwein; one brother, Pete and Sadie Schneider of Stanley; and many nieces and nephews.

Mildred Schneider was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jimmy Allen and Randy Ray; one daughter, Debbie Cogill; two grandchildren, Charles Armentrout and Ericka McGonigle; two sisters, Carol Schneider and Doris Schneider; and one brother, Kenny Schneider.
