Elsie Hageman
Elsie Hageman, 73, of Fort Atkinson, died Thursday, March 11, 1999, as the result of an automobile accident near West Union.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 15, at 11 a.m., at St. John's Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, with the Rev. Allen Schmitt officiating.
The St. John's adult choir provided special music.
Casket bearers were Marvin Krivachek, Mark Krivachek, Kenneth Krivachek, Dale Gerleman, Daniel Gerleman and Dean Gerleman.
Burial was at the church cemetery. The Chekal Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Elsie Virginia (Geling) Hageman was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Ossian, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Moellers) Geling. She attended St. Frances de Sales School in Ossian.
She was married to Clarence Hageman Sept. 14, 1947, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian.
Elsie lived in the Fort Atkinson area all her married life. She enjoyed bingo, quilting, gardening, singing and dancing, and helping her family.
She and Clarence had joyously celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 15, 1997.
Elsie was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, where she helped and was involved in many church functions.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence; six children; Jean and Ed Ebert of Waverly, Ann and Craig Steege of Crystal Lake, IL., Gail and Dean Lansing of Waukon, Lisa and Wayne Gilster of Decorah, and Jeff Hageman of Fredericksburg; 10 grandchildren; and three sisters, Leona Gerleman of Ossian, Cyrilla Krivachek of Fort Atkinson and Lucille Heying of Decorah.
Elsie Hageman was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Julie; and a brother, Walter Geling.
