Donald R. Yarwood
Donald R. Yarwood, 80, of Stewartville, Minn., died at his apartment there Friday, Dec. 10, 1999, of an apparent heart attack.
A memorial service was held Monday, Dec. 13, at 4 p.m., at the First Pentecostal Church in Rochester, Minn.
The body was donated to Mayo Medical Center. The Griffin-Gray Funeral Home of Stewartville, Minn., handled arrangements.
Donald was born Aug. 11, 1919, and grew up on the family farm in rural Decorah of Winneshiek County. On Sept. 9, 1945, he was married to Rosalie Kneeskern at Burr Oak. They were later divorced.
After marriage, they farmed at Decorah and later in Fillmore County in Minnesota. In 1963, Donald moved to Rochester, Minn., where he was employed at the Kahler Hotel until he retired. He had lived in Stewartville, Minn., the past four years.
He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Rochester, Minn.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond of Eagan, Minn., and James of Durham, N.C.; two daughters, Shirley Pittman of Silver Springs, Fla., and Rose Marie Weets of Rochester, Minn.; and 10 grandchildren.
Donald Yarwood was preceded in death by one son.
