Clarence Henry Brom

Clarence Henry Brom, 79, of Calmar, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at the Green Lea Manor Nursing Home in Mabel, Minn., after a long illness.

A funeral mass was held Saturday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m., at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar, with the Rev. Donald Hawes officiating.

Music was provided by Alan Sensor, organist, and the St. Aloysius Church Choir.

Casket bearers were Lia Myhre, Ryan Myhre, Wayne Myhre, Steve Brom, Mark Lynch and Charlie Lynch.

Interment was at the St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Calmar. The French Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Clarence was born Dec. 13, 1919, in Calmar, the son of Joseph and Eleanora (Korbel) Brom.

After graduating from high school in Calmar, he worked in a defense plant in New York.

On July 22, 1947, he married Delores Balik at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville.

Clarence worked at the United States Post Office in Calmar for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Delores; his daughter, Susan and Wayne Myhre of Winona, Minn.; his son, Thomas Brom of Madison, Wis.; two grandchildren Lia and Ryan Myhre; and his sister, Eleanor and Leo Lynch of Waucoma.

Clarence Brom was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Daniel Brom in 1976; and three brothers, George, Leo and Walter Brom.
