Emma Ann Pecinovsky

Emma Pecinovsky, 95, of Spillville, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Elma, Iowa.

Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, with Rev. Donald Hawes officiating.

Organist was Doris Thompson and soloist was Dan Silhacek.

Casket bearers were Jim Balik, Ronnie Puffer, Larry Pecinovsky, Jim Puffer, Dean Ryan and Raymond Svoboda.

Interment was in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Spillville, with Balik Funeral Home of Spillville handling arrangements.

Emma Ann Pecinovsky was born July 5, 1905 to Joseph and Emma (Bouska) Puffer on the family farm near Conover.

She attended the Conover School, and in 1945 moved to town with her parents.

She had always helped on the family farm and also worked at Bucheit Produce in Calmar for many years.

In 1965 she married Thomas Pecinovsky. He died in 1978, and in 1988 she moved to Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Elma.

Surviving Emma Pecinovsky are her brother, Frank Puffer of Ridgeway, and many nieces and nephews.

Emma Ann Pecinovsky was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Pecinovsky, three sisters, Helen Balik, Mary Phillips and Christina Kellner, and a brother, Joe Puffer.
