Mary Elizabeth Bullerman
Mary Bullerman, 89, of SpilIville, died Thursday, May 31, 2001 at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital in Decorah.
A Mass of Christian Burial service was held at St. Wenceslaus Church at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 2. Rev. Donald Hawes officiated.
Music was provided by organist Doris Thompson and soloist Dan Silhacek.
Casket bearers were Jim Nagel, Don Brincks, Parnell Brincks, Lynn Hageman, Linus Hageman, Kenny Holthaus and LaVem Rinken.
Interment was in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery in SpilIville, and Balik Funeral Home of SpilIville handled arrangements.
Mary Elizabeth Bullerman was born Nov. 20, 1911 to Herman and Pauline (Weber) Brincks near Ossian.
She was baptized at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and attended St. Francis de Sales Catholic School.
She married Herman Bullerman Nov. 11, 1930 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
The couple farmed near Festina for a few years and then moved between SpilIville and Calmar and farmed until 1973 when they moved to SpilIville. In 1995, Mary Bullerman moved to Ossian Senior Hospice.
She enjoyed playing cards, caring for her garden and flowers and crocheting.
Survivors include her sister, Ann and Francis Hageman of Calmar; two brothers, Ray and Hildegard Brincks of Fort Atkinson and Clarence and Marie of Ossian and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Elizabeth Bullerman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman Bullerman, in 1996; two children in infancy and three sisters, Rose Meyer, Theresa Bullerman and Olivia Holthaus.
