William Frank Lentz

William Lentz, 90, of rural Calmar, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at his home, following a short illness.

A funeral mass was held Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, with the Rev. Donald Hawes
officiating.

Doris Thompson was the organist. Casket bearers were Doug Soukup, Larry Mikota, Dennis Sobolik, Gordy Ira, Mark Chyle and Robert Lentz.

Interment was at the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. The Balik Funeral Home of Spillville handled arrangements.

William was born Feb. 6, 1909, in rural Calmar, the son of Frank and Rose (Sobolik) Lentz. He attended rural country school.

On Oct. 14, 1947, he was united in marriage with Evelyn Shimek at St. Wenceslaus Church.

William lived and farmed all his life west of Spillville. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; three children, Dan Lentz of Protivin, Tom Lentz of Protivin and Catherine Woods of The Dalles, Ore.; and three grandchildren, Amy, Patrick and Eric Lentz.

William Frank Lentz was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Carrie Tupy, Emma Humpal and Mathilda Lentz.
