Victor C. Kovarik

Victor C. Kovarik, 76, of Fort Atkinson, died Thursday, March 4, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., after a long illness.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 8, at 10:30 a.m., at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, with the Rev. Allen Schmitt officiating.

Marlene Pecinovsky was the organist. The Protivin Czech Choir provided special music.

Casket bearers were Gene Kovarik, Joe Balik, Keith Kovarik, Kris Kovarik, Jim Kovarik and Joe Kovarik.

Burial was at the Holy Trinity Cemetery. The Balik Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Victor was born Nov. 11, 1922, in rural Fort Atkinson, the son of Charles and Albina (Pecka) Kovarik. He attended a country school in Winneshiek County.

He was married to Carmelita Kobliska June 1, 1954. Victor farmed west of Fort Atkinson until he moved to the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah.

Survivors include his wife, Carmelita.

Victor C. Kovarik was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ben.
