Albert Andera 1916-1998

Albert Andera, 82, of Cresco, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 19, at II a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cresco, with the Rev. Michael Tauke presiding.

Burial was at the Calvary Cemetery. The Conway Funeral Home in Cresco handling arrangements.

Albert Frank Andera was born Aug. 14, 1916, near SpilIville, the son of Albert and Frances (Humpal) Andera. He attended rural school and had to help the family on the farm.

On Nov. 10, 1941, he was united in marriage to Grace Svoboda at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin. They became the parents of six children. They made their home on the farm in Howard County.

Albert was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Schley until they moved to Cresco in 1978. They then joined the St. Joseph's Church in Cresco.

Albert enjoyed the outdoors, his grandchildren, fishing and returning to help on the farm.

Survivors include his wife, Grace; four daughters, Mary Ann Andera of Ruton, N.M., Norma and Al Hoerler of Hartland, Minn., Kathryn arid Thomas Buckley of Elma, ad Rita and Clinton Pitzen of lowa City; two sons, Marvin of Cresco and Donald with the United States Army in Seoul, Korea; eight grandchildren; five brothers, Robert of Cresco, Frank and Matt, both of SpilIville, William of Lawler and Lawrence of Decorah; and two sisters, Marcella Hayek of Spillville and Mary Soukup of Decorah.

Albert Andera was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Edward, Louis and Cyril in infancy; and two sisters, Frances Hageman and Adella Peterson.
