Kelly Ann McClimon was born May 29, 1966 in Maquoketa, IA, the daughter of William and Helen Arlene (Burke) McClimon. She moved with her family to Waukon while in the 2nd grade and continued to go to school in Waukon until the 11th grade when she moved to Marble Falls, TX. She graduated from Marble Falls High School, attended Temple Jr. College in Temple, TX and graduated from Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, TX. Kelly was working toward her MBA in counseling while teaching full time as a special education schoolteacher for 3 years at
Harlandale Independent School District in San Antonio. Kelly worked her way through college by providing personalized care to Ethel Childs and
Megan Childs which allowed them to stay in their homes during their later years. In addition, she did her part for the armed forces by keeping
everybody in line at Fort Sam Houston and Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio where she worked as an administrative assistant. In the past year Kelly worked as a family therapist for Alternative Services in Decorah and did substitute teaching at Mabel-Canton Elementary School in Minnesota.

Kelly was a member of the Texas Teachers Association. She coached girls track, basketball, soccer and cheerleading.

Kelly enjoyed spending time with her many nieces and nephews and the children of her friends. Kelly was a special friend to many, especially Steve Weighner, Brian & Mick Herman, Cynthia & Rusty Berger, Lori & Mark Egan, Becky & Jeff Hawes, Kathy & Kyle Halverson, Nita & Rob Grangaard; Barb & Wayne Byrnes, Shannon & Steve Mayer, Mary & Pete
Eadler, Melody Henderson and Renee Ramirez.

Kelly was preceded in death by a sister MaRea and a brother Walter. Survivors include her mother, Arlene McClimon of DeWitt, IA, her father, William McClimon of Davenport, IA, 6 brothers, William & wife Nancy and Randy & wife Lora, both of Charlotte, IA, Patrick of Atlanta, GA, Tony & wife Annie and Thad & wife Laurie, both of Chatfield, MN and Mark of Juneau, AK, 3 sisters, Jean McClimon of Independence, MO, Jobena & husband Pete Illing of Horseshoe Bay, TX and Mary Francis & husband John Quandahl of Ridgeway, IA; 24 nieces and nephews and 1 great-niece.

Kelly will be remembered always for her red hair and radiant blue/green eyes, her strength of character and her spunky nature, her love of time spent with family & friends, her honesty, her sometimes orneriness, and her determination and focus. For even in Kelly's hardest moments in her last days she would not be happy until all the cans were collected and delivered for Trevor's can mountain collection. We love Kelly for all these reasons, always and forever.
