Harold 'Red' Baker

Harold W. "Red" Baker, 75, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 14, at 10:30 a.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with interment at the Russell Cemetery in Decorah.

The Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls handled arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Harold was born June 15, 1924, in Howard County, the son of Sidney and Edna (Lewis) Baker.

On Sept. 14, 1958, he was united in marriage to Darlene Windsheimer in Waterloo. They were Iater divorced.

Harold was employed in the boning department at Rath Packing Co. in Waterloo for many years, retiring in 1983.

Survivors include four daughters and their husbands, Carolyn and Darren Haley of Tripoli, Eleanor and Steve Richardson of Ely, Marlene and Chris Ostby of Corona, Calif., and Merry and Norman Andre of Aurora, Calif.; two sons, Darrell Baker of Bluffton and Marvin Baker of Tripoli; five grandchildren; three sisters, Cecelia Dawley and Laura Boice, both of Decorah, and Lorraine Baker of Waterloo; and one brother, Paul Baker of Mabel, Minn.

Harold Baker was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ruth Barth; and two brothers, Raymond and David.
