DEAN EGGEN, 57, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at his home of lung cancer. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, at the French & Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, at 2 p.m. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday. There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
Survivors include three sisters, Eva "Toody" Klausner of Henderson, Nev., Marcia and Dennis Fisher of Decorah and Christopher Dux of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and five nieces and nephews._____________________________________________________________________

Dean Arthur Eggen, 57, of Cedar Rapids and formerly of Decorah, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at his home, after a long illness with lung cancer.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m., at the French & Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, with the Rev. Tim Tostengard officiating.
Burial was at the Hauge Cemetery in rural Decorah. The French & Balik Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Dean was born Nov. 5, 1941, in Decorah, the son of Arthur and Gladys (Kratz) Eggen. He graduated from Decorah High School.
Dean also served in the United States Army from 1961-64.
He was employed by AS AC in Cedar Rapids and was Lutheran in faith.
He never married.
Survivors include three sisters, Eva "Toody" Klausner of Henderson, Nev., Marcia and Dennis Fisher of Decorah, and Rebecca and Christopher Dux of Chattanooga, Tenn., and five nieces and nephews.
