Keith Stockdale

Keith A. Stockdale, 40, of Decorah, died Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at home after having carcinoid cancer for eight years.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21, at 11 a.m., at Decorah Lutheran Church, with the Revs. James Clesne and Ole Winter officiating.

Kathy Murray will be the organist. Tanya Spalla will be the soloist.

Casket bearers will be Garic Hjerleid, Teri Hoganson, Bob Lynch, Jody McCormick, Bill Neebel and Eric "Zeb" Sorum.

Burial will be at the New Oregon Cemetery, rural Cresco. The Fjelstul Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be held at Fjelstul's Thursday, July 17, from 4-8 p.m., and Friday at the church after 10 a.m.

Keith Allen Stockdale was born July 17, 1960, at Riceville, the son of Vernon C. and Joanne (Taft) Stockdale. He was raised and worked on the family farm in Ridgeway until 1985. He graduated from Crestwood High School in 1978.

Moving to Decorah, Keith managed and later owned The Pub, until 1995. Then he managed Celebrations until his retirement Oct. 31, 1999.

He lived out the rest of his days at home with his wife. Keith was married to Annette Bodensteiner Sept. 27, 1997, at Decorah Lutheran Church.

Keith was an active participant in Park and Rec softball league and dart league and tournaments.

Survivors include his wife, Annette; two brothers, Dennis Stockdale of Ridgeway and Grant Stockdale of Cuca, Calif.; two sisters, Lynn Spalla of Ridgeway and Renae Buttolph of Elma; his mother, Joanne Stockdale of Ridgeway; his mother-in-law, Sandra VanWey of Decorah; and his father-in-law, Leo Bodensteiner of Canon City, Colo.

Keith Stockdale was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Stockdale.
