Martha Tekla Rosie Griebenow
Martha Griebenow, 91, of Northfield Minn., and formerly of Decorah and Farmington, Minn., died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 2 at Faith United Methodist Church in Farmington with Rev. Paul Stambaugh officiating.
Casket bearers were Aaron Ehlers, Kenneth Dilley, John Juenke, Douglas and Gary Moorhouse and James Switzer.
Interment was at Emmanual Cemetery in Farmington, with White Funeral Home of Farmington handling arrangements.
Martha Tekla Rosie Griebenow was born to John and Anna Schuler on Sept. 27, 1909, in Hendricks, Minn.
She graduated from Farmington High School and on August 1, 1931, married Raymond Griebenow in Farmington.
Martha Griebenow owned and operated cafes in Harmony and Preston, Minn., and in Decorah. She was also employed at Oneota Country Club and Luther College, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Decorah.
Surviving Martha Griebenow are her daughters, Darlene and Joe Lynch of Waseca, and Joyce Lammers of Austin, Texas; one son, Ronald and Janet Griebenow of La Mirada, Calif., six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Martha Tekla Rosie Griebenow was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Griebenow; four brothers, three sisters, and a son-in-law, James Lammers.
