Julia Ann Neuzil

Julia Ann Neuzil, 103, of Fort Atkinson, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah after a long illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m., at St. John's Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson, with the Rev. Allen Schmitt officiating.

Casket bearers were grandsons Craig, Donald, Dan J., Loren, Steve, Joe and Jamie Neuzil, and Robert, David, Gary and Richard Bales.

Burial was at the church cemetery. The Chekal Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Julia Ann (Wandas) Neuzil was born June 19, 1896, in Lourdes, Iowa, the daughter of John and Anna (Kubesh) Wandas. She attended St. John's School in Fort Atkinson.

On Nov. 24, 1919 she was married to Frank Neuzil in St. John's Catholic Church at Fort Atkinson.

Survivors include one daughter, Julia and Roy Brandt of Cedar Rapids; three sons, Bernard and Marie Neuzil of Fort Atkinson, Daniel and Ethel Neuzil of Fort Atkinson, and Norbert and lone Neuzil of Decorah; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Julia Neuzil was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank, who died in 1983; five sisters, Mary Neuzil, Stefana Wandas, Agnes Doubek, Sister Procopia and Jenny Swehla; and two brothers, Charlie and Joe Wandas.
