Robert Brown

Robert A. Brown, age 87, of Decorah, died Monday, March 6, 2000, at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 9, at 2 p.m., at the French & Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, with the Rev. Jim Dale officiating from the First United Methodist Church. Organist will be Alan Sensor.

Visitation will be held after noon Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Phelps Cemetery in Decorah.

Robert was born Sept. 25, 1912, in Decorah, the son of Reuben Andrew and Beryl (Brooks) Brown. Rob attended Decorah schools.

He farmed with his father west of Decorah for some time, then moved to Freeport and was a caretaker at the Oneota Golf Course. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.

Survivors include three nephews and many cousins.

Robert Brown was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harold.
