Mary (Ehler) Puckett

Mary (Ehler) Puckett, 62, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church in Ossian, with Msgr. Cletus Hawes officiating.

Organist was Diane Stee, and music was provided by the St. Francis Adult Choir. Reader was Linda Ehler.

Casket bearers were Robert Franzen, LeRoy Franzen, Francis O'Reagen, Sam Franzen, Steven Ehler, Rick Kadrlik and Chad Wohlers.

Interment was in the St. Francis Cemetery, with Schmitz Funeral Home of Ossian handling arrangements.

Mary Ann (Ehler) Puckett was born May 23, 1938, the daughter of Victor and Clara (Franzen) Ehler in Waucoma, Iowa.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith.

As a child, she lived in Southern Minnesota, near Harmony, and then St. Lucas, lowa, moving to Ossian in 1953. She graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in 1956.

Mary Ann Ehler attended Nursing School in Chicago, IL, and worked there for a number of years.

In 1988, she was united in marriage to Daniel Puckett in Waterloo, lowa. They resided in Maquoketa after their marriage.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Puckett; two brothers, John and Marilyn Ehler of Lakeville, Minn.; and Denis and Linda Ehler of Loretto, Minn.; a sister, Lois Ehler of Elma, Iowa; three nephews; six nieces; and a sister-in-law, Carol Ehler of New Hampton, lowa.

Mary Ann (Ehler) Puckett was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Floyd Ehler.
