EDITOR'S NOTE: The following obituary was recently received by a Decorah Newspapers correspondent.

Angelyn Beckman, 100, of Rochester, Minn., died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001 at Madonna Towers, Rochester.

A memorial mass and burial will be held in the spring at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery in Ossian.

Angelyn Beckman was born March 22, 1900, near Ossian, the daughter of Henry and Theresa (Knipping) Beckman.

She graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School and taught school in the Postville and Ossian areas for four years.

She worked for the Dayton Company in Minneapolis, Minn., New York, N.Y. and San Francisco, Calif.

After retiring in 1974, she moved to Madonna Towers, and remained active and continued to help handicapped children.

Angelyn Beckman was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; seven sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
