Michael Justin Wieczorek

Michael "Tower" Justin Wieczorek, 19, of Decorah, decided to leave this world Tuesday, May 9, 2000, in Iowa City, where he attended the University of Iowa.

A memorial service was held at Whalen Cabin in Phelps Park, Decorah, Sunday, May 14, where many of his friends and family gathered to share their sorrow and pray that Michael has found peace.

A funeral and burial were held in New Brighton, Minn., Monday, May 15. A memorial service was held in Iowa City Friday, May 12, at the site of his death for those grieving there.

Michael was born June 25,1980.

He is survived by his father, Dennis Pottratz of Decorah, and his mother, Sue Wieczorek of New Brighton, Minn.

Other survivors include his brother John of New Brighton, Minn.; his grandfather, Floyd Pottratz of New Albin; three uncles, Tom Pottratz of Indianapolis, Ind., Lloyd Pottratz of Davenport and Bob Pottratz of Melrose, Minn.; and three aunts, Angela Lager of Mankato, Minn., Becky Andresen of Davenport and Christy Lampert of Freeburg, Minn.
