Phyllis Czako
Phyllis Frances Czako, 89, formerly of Green Lea Manor in Mabel, Minn., and of Decorah, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m., at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Decorah.
Burial will be at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cemetery in Ossian. The French & Balik Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Phyllis was born April 23, 1910, in Winneshiek County, the daughter of Clem and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Zweibahmer. She attended school at St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in Ossian.
Phyllis married John Czako in California. She worked as a nurse in Monrovia, Calif., for several years before returning to Decorah in 1979.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great great nephews.
Phyllis Czako was preceded in death by her husband, John Czako; her parents; four sisters, Rose Funke, Emma Etteldorf, Ida Burke and Laura Gerleman; three brothers, Clem Zweibahmer, Jr., William Zweibahmer and Theodore Zweibahmer.
