Edwin L. Sorenson

Edwin L. Sorenson, 79, of Grants Pass, Ore., died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at Highland House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

No services were held. Inurnment is at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Grants Pass. Lundberg's L.B. Hall Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Edwin was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Decorah, the son of Lars and Ida (Lien) Sorenson. He entered the United States Navy in 1938.

In 1954 he married his wife, Aileen, in Boston, Mass. He retired from the Navy in 1965.

Edwin enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a past member of the Rogue River City Council.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, David Sorenson of Medford, Ore.; a brother Willard Sorenson, and a sister, Myrtle Philips, both of Decorah; and three grandchildren.

Edwin Sorenson was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Selma Hotvedt; and brothers Glen and Leonard Sorenson, all of Decorah.

Memorials may be given to the Canoe Ridge Improvement Fund.
