Funeral services for Florence Everman were held Friday, January 7, 1983 at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia. The Reverend H. W. Wolfgram officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service in Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
Florence H. Everman, daughter of Fred and Mary (Reinhardt) Miene, was born June 9, 1907 in Bloomfield Township, Winneshiek County, Iowa. She passed away January 4, 1983 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.
She was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville. She received her education in the rural schools near Postville and graduated from the Postville High School in 1924. After graduation she taught in a rural school near Castalia.
On May 25, 1927 she was married to Walter F. Everman. To this union three children were born. They farmed in the Postville area until 1935 when they moved to a farm near Castalia. In 1965 they retired and moved to Postville.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Walter, who died January 13, 1980.
Surviving are two sons, Wayne of Cedar Falls, IA and James of Marshall, MN, a daughter, Mrs. Jerald (Elaine) Lybbert of Cresco, IA, eleven grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Alma Kuehling of Longmont, CO and Mrs. Lucy Winter of West Union, and two brothers, Fred Miene of Monona and Otto Miene of Postville.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia.
