Mrs. Malcolm Ean, 59, passed away Friday at a hospital in Iowa City, after suffering a heart attack early that day.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 21, at St. Wenceslaus church and burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery in that city.
Ella Mae Welsch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Welsch was born in Postville. November 8, 1915 she was united in marriage with Melcolm Ean of Ossian, by Rev. J. J. Clune in Postville.
After their marriage they lived in Ossian, Toledo and for the past 33 years, Iowa City had been their home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away March 2, 1942 and an infant son; also her parents, a sister, Veronica, and a brother, Frank.
Surviving are her brothers and sisters: John of Albert Lea, Minnesota; Alfred of Jesup; Marguerite, Mrs. Charles Collins of Burlington; and Monica, Mrs. Herman Eiholzer of Eaton, New York, who attended the funeral; also Mrs. Nora Ean Neils of Ossian and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Topel of Decorah.
