Nicholas Sorenson

Nicholas Sorenson, 11, of Decorah, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wis. after complications with surgery.

Funeral mass was held Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Decorah, with the Rev. Gary Krapfl officiating. Mary Beth Bouska was the organist. Soloist was Clark Goltz. Interment was at St. Benedict Catholic Church Cemetery. The French & Balik Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Casket bearers were Jay Ramsey, Ryan Amble, Michele Henry, Dan Amble, Erica Henry and Sarah Ramsey. Honorary casket bearers were Nicholas's classmates.

Nicholas was born on Jan. 10, 1989 in LaCrosse, Wis. to Steve and Patricia (Amble) Sorenson.

When he was 3 years old he started school at John Cline in Decorah.

Some of Nicholas's favorite things were to go for a ride in the car, be at school with his friends and be in the middle of family gatherings. He especially liked watching Barney videos.

Nicholas Sorenson is survived by his mother, Patricia Sorenson of Decorah; father, Steven Sorenson of Osage; his sister Emily Sorenson and half sister, Amy Sorenson, both of Decorah; grandparents Alger and Norma Amble of rural New Hampton and Lester and Gerry Sorenson of Decorah and many cousins.
