Virgil J. Henry

Virgil J. Henry, 70, of Harmony, Minn., died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse as a result of injuries he received in an auto accident. A funeral mass was held Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Nativity Catholic Church in Harmony with Rev. Steven Peterson officiating. Burial was in the Greenfield Cemetery. Linstrom Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Virgil Henry was born July 11, 1930, in Cresco, Iowa. He graduated from Assumption High School in Cresco. On Nov. 7, 1953, he married Helen Jane Costigan in Lawler, after which they began farming in Burr Oak. In 1958, they moved to their current home in Harmony, where he was a self-employed farmer and trucker.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Jane; four children, Deborah (Steven) Erickson of Chatfield, Minn.; Steven (Barb) Henry of Harmony; Linnette Fischer of Harmony; Linda (Wayne) Schleusner of Dodge Center, Minn; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Virgil Henry was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Rachel Henry; a son-in-law, Dennis Fischer; and his parents.
