Alma Saboe 1925-2000

Alma Saboe, 75, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union following a long illness.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Burnham-Wood Funeral Home in West Union. Burial was at the West Union Cemetery.

Alma Saboe was born May 1, 1925 in Lawler to A. W. (Tony) and Theresa (Kraemer) Hausladen. She graduated from West Union High School in 1941 and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls.

On June 17, 1951, she married Clifford Saboe at Messiah Evangelical Church, Burlington. She taught in West Union, Burlington and Cresco. She was co-owner/operator of West Union Oil Co. in West Union.

Survivors include her husband, Clifford, West Union; a daughter, Sheri Hughes, Searsboro; a son, Mark Saboe, Dubuque; her mother, Mrs. Theresa Hausladen, Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Anthony Hausladen, Chesterfield, Mo., and Tom Hausladen, Lafayette, Ind.; three sisters, Germaine Hausladen, Cedar Rapids, Joan Bolts, Marshalltown, and LaVonne Wayne, Deltona, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Mary (in infancy); her father, A. W. Hausladen; a brother, Cyril Hausladen; and a sister, Virginia Hausladen
