Mickey Thompson

Mickey Jeff "Tank Top" Thompson, 21, of Waterloo and formerly of Earlville, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo following a traffic accident.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 1, at 11 a.m., at the, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earlville, with the Rev. Herb Tegeler officiating.

Burial will be at the church cemetery. The Clifton Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mickey, the son of Jeffrey Alan and Suzanne (Gossman) Thompson, was born Sept. 15, 1978, at Decorah.

He moved to Earlville when he was 4 and graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1996 where he enjoyed wrestling. He attended the University of Northern Iowa and has been employed as a foreman with Wright's Tree Service of Cedar Falls. Mickey's other interests included hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his parents, Jeff and Suzy Thompson of Earlville; two brothers, Nicholas of Cedar Rapids and Willie at home; a sister, Melissa at home; his paternal grandparents, Ernie and Lois Thompson of Decorah; and his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Vivienne Gossman of Decorah.
