Agnes Drievold
Agnes B. Drievold, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at her home.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 7, at 10:30 a.m., at Decorah Lutheran Church, with the Revs. Tim Tostengard and Gary Krapfl officiating.
Diane Kvamme was the organist. The congregation sang "The Old Rugged Cross," "Amazing Grace" and "In the Garden."
Casket bearers were Lane Lafler, Roy Morford, Scott Schnor, Steven Schnor, Jim West and Rodney Williamson.
Burial was at the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. The Fjelstul Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Agnes (Balk) Drievold was born May 13, 1921, at home in Festina, the daughter of William and Mary (Moeller) Balk.
She graduated from the Catholic school in Festina.
Agnes was married to Bennie A. Drievold Dec. 27, 1939, in Decorah.
Agnes worked for 27 years in laundries in Cedar Rapids - Barlow's, Modern, New Process and then D & J Dry Cleaners. She retired in 1981.
Survivors include five children, Anna Marie Drievold of Cedar Rapids, Richard Donald and Betty Drievold of Cedar Rapids, Helen Luella and Henry Ricklefs of Cedar Rapids, Robert Wesley and Diane Drievold of Cedar Rapids, and Sharon Kay and Mark Brown of Ogden, Utah; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Leo T. and Alice Balk of Sewickley, Pa.
Agnes Drievold was preceded in death by her parents; his husband, Bennie, who died July 18, 1978; three sisters, Irma Wold, Olivia "Loulou" Banning and Rita Faulkner; one brother, Andrew Balk; and three half-sisters, Irma Balk, Rose Balk and Julia Dieterich.
