Earl Tolstad

Earl Tolstad, 80, of Decorah, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at home.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m., at the Fjelstul Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ole Winter officiating.

Diane Kvamme was the organist. Burial was at the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. The Fjelstul Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Earl was born Nov. 4, 1919, in Decorah, the son of Edward and Petra (Riste) Tolstad.

He attended the Alamo (Texas) Public School system. He worked at the United States Post Office in Chicago for 20 years. Earl also was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one brother, Wallace of Waterloo.

Earl Tolstad was preceded in death by his parents and by one sister in infancy.
