Louise Borowski

Louise I. Borowski, 79, of Decorah, died Sunday, Oct 24, 1999, at her home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 28, at 1 p.m., at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Marion Miller officiating.

Ben Keseley will be the organist. Ed Andereck will sing "Be Thou With Me." The congregation will sing "How Great Thou Art," "My Faith Looks Up to Thee" and "On My Heart Imprint Your Image."

Casket bearers will be Ed Andereck, Erek Borowski, Gary Crawford, Richard Olson, Ryan Teslow and Wade Teslow.

Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. The Fjelstul Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be held Thursday at the church one hour before services.

Louise (Fosen) Borowski was born Dec. 2, 1919, in Gardner, IL., the daughter of Lars and Sarah (Tweedt) Fosen. She attended rural schools near Gardner, Illinois.

She was married to Leonard J. Borowski Aug. 17, 1940, in Odell, Illinois.
After their marriage, they lived in Morris, IL, until 1988, when they moved to Decorah. Among the most important things to Louise were her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She believed a true friend was the greatest of all blessings. She enjoyed her morning coffee in downtown Decorah with her husband and friends. Louise also enjoyed cooking, especially Norwegian and Polish foods. She belonged to First Lutheran Church and was active in circle. She was a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris, IL, where she was very active.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard; two sons, Joel and Dianne Borowski of Decorah, and Leon and Karen Borowski of Alamo, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Sarah Borowski of Chicago, Beth Borowski of Decorah, Erek Borowski and fiancee Portia Belo of Alamo, Calif., Lara Borowski of Alamo, Calif., Kara Borowski of Alamo, Calif., Wade and Jennifer Teslow of Dubuque, and Ryan Teslow of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Lester and Robbie Nell Fosen of Morris, IL.; one brother-in-law, Ernest Austin of Marseilles, IL.; and one sister-in-law, Rose Fosen of Odell, IL.

Louise Borowski was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Tenis Fosen; her sister, Alice Austin; and her step-father, William Blanchfield.
