Gladys Larson 1903-1999
Gladys M. Larson, 96, of Decorah, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999, at the Oneota Riverview Care Facility.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m., at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Kim Smith officiating.
Paul Bruvold was the organist. The congregation sang the hymn "How Great Thou Art," "My Faith Looks Up to Thee" and "Guide Me Ever, Great Redeemer."
Interment was at the Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery. The Fjelstul Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Gladys (Lofstuen) Larson was born in St. Olaf Oct. 19, 1903, the daughter of Nels and Kari (Knutson) Lofstuen.
She was baptized Nov. 16, 1903, and confirmed May 26, 1919. Gladys attended rural schools.
On June 26, 1926, she was united in marriage to Tollef G. Larson. He preceded her in death July 19, 1974.
Gladys was an Avon sales representative 49 years in the Decorah area.
Survivors include nephews Kenneth Lofstuen of Cedar Falls, George Kershaw of Delavan, Wis., and Abe Kershaw of Elgin, IL, and nieces Betty Decker of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Sonja Miller of Fort Myers, Fla.
Gladys Larson was preceded in death by her husband, Tollef; her parents; and two brothers, Thomas R. Lofstuen of Decorah and Leonard Lofstuen of Clinton.
