Olive Isabelle Ellingson

Olive Isabelle Ellingson, 94, of Spring Grove, Minn., died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at the Tweeten/Lutheran Health Care Center in Spring Grove.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 1, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove, with the Rev. Jim Arends officiating.

Burial was at the church cemetery. The Roble Funeral Home in Spring Grove, Minn., handled arrangements.

Olive (Rood) Ellingson was born Oct. 3, 1904, in Spring Grove, Minn., the daughter of Albert and Helene (Rosten) Rood. She attended Spring Grove Public School. She was a lifelong resident of the Spring Grove area.

Olive married Elmer Ellingson in Spring Grove Nov. 22, 1924. She and her husband farmed in rural Spring Grove.

After Elmer's death in August of 1961, Olive moved to Spring Grove in the mid 1960s.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its women's organizations. She enjoyed being a mother, sewing and baking.

Survivors include one son, Alden and Luetta Ellingson of La Crosse, Wis.; four grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Olive Ellingson was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Elmer.
