Leona Kalsow
Leona (Lee) Kalsow, 65, of Alamo, Texas, and West Salem, Wis., and a longtime resident of Decorah, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at the HCA Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, Texas.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m., at the Fjelstul Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul Hasvold, with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. Connie Bolson was the organist.
Leona (Lee) Kalsow was born Aug. 31, 1933, in Rockdell, Minn., the daughter of Leonard and Lillie (Buchta) Lee.
She graduated from Stewartville High School in 1951 and from Luther College in 1955. Leona was married to Waldo Kalsow in 1956.
Survivors include her husband, Waldo, and their six children and families: Bill, Kathy, Matthew and Samantha Kalsow of Shoreview, Minn.; Gretchen Kalsow of Charlottesville, Va.; Warren, Jeanne, Katie, Wesley, Rachel and Wallace Kalsow of Apple Valley, Minn.; Margaret "Peggy" Kalsow of Duluth, Minn.; Walter, Kari, Erica, Laura and Sarah Kalsow of Dayton, Minn.; and Elizabeth and Ken DePue of Adel.
She is also survived by her three sisters, Sue Rice of Rockford, Illinois, Pat Ballinger of Jacksonville, Fla., and Elsie Sparks of Rochester, Minn.
Leona Kalsow was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Peter and Edwin Lee.
