..Press Time BulletinLAURA VOLD, 90, of Decorah, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at the Howard County Hospital in Cresco, after a short illness.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 26, at 11 a.m., at Decorah Lutheran Church, with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah.
Visitation will be held at the church Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include one sister, Marie Sherven of Madison, Wis., and one brother, Ronald Skaim of Minneapolis, Minn.
The French & Balik Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Laura Vold
Laura Vold, 90, of Decorah, died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at the Howard County Hospital in Cresco after a short illness.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 26, at 11 a.m., at Decorah Lutheran Church, with the Revs. James Glesne and Ole Winter officiating.
Diane Kvamme was the organist. Hymns included "Abide with Me" and "Silent Night."
Casket bearers were Lee, Lonnie, Chad, Corey, Mike and Lindsay Pierce.
Burial was at the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. The French & Balik Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Laura was born April 7, 1908, the daughter of George and Jessie (Smorstad) Skaim. She was baptized and confirmed. She attended West Side School in Decorah through the 8th grade.
She was united in marriage to Anthon Espeseth. He preceded her in death Nov. 16, 1955. Laura then married Henry Vold, who also preceded her in death.
She had been a resident at the Cresco Care Center at the time of her death.
Survivors include a niece and husband, JoAnn and Daryl; a nephew, Ronald Skaim; son-in-law Harold Pierce; four grandchildren, Lee and Marlene Pierce, Lonnie and JoAnn Pierce, Lynn and Smitty Smith, and Lindsay and Sue Pierce; six great-grandchildren, Mike, Chad, Corey, Lisa,. John and Mystic Pierce; a sister, Marie Shervan; a step-son, Earl Espeseth; and step-daughter LaVonne Stortz.
Laura Vold was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Anthon Espeseth; her second husband, Henry Vold; a daughter, Gloria Pierce; and one brother, Clarence Skaim.
