Funeral services were held at the Community Church in Frankville for Francis C. Evert, 51, on Tuesday afternoon, September 24. Burial was at County Corners cemetery near Strawberry Point.

Mr. Evert passed away Saturday morning, September 21, at the Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, following a brief illness. He was born at Edgewood, a son of Mike and Amelia Balluff and was married to Ilda Smith of Oelwein on June 9, 1926.

He farmed for three years near Strawberry Point before moving to Frankville, where he operated The Evert Garage for 22 years.

He sold the business in 1954 and has since followed the Carpenter trade. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and an infant son.

He is survived by his wife and four sons: Homer, of Weathersfeld, A. F. B. in England; Harold, of Plattsburg A. F. B., in New York; Keith of Frankville; and Karl, of Keesler A. F. B. in Mississippi. Five sisters also survive: Mrs. Glenn Letchford of Frankville; Mrs. George McFarlane of Oelwein; Mrs. Arthur Topel of Port Orchard, Washington; Mrs. Ida Shippy of Newton and Mrs. Pete McIntosh of Anamosa. Four grandchildren also survive.

The Rev. Evert McFarlane conducted the services at the church here. Mrs. Leonard Crawford and Mrs. Roger Sampson sang two hymns, accompanied by Mrs. Leslie Laterman.
