Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 21, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, for Carl F. Letchford of Frankville who passed away at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville on September 19, 1966, following a stroke. The Rev. Lenwood Monte, pastor of St. Paul's, was in charge of the rites. Burial was in Frankville cemetery.

Carl F. Letchford was born at Frankville on August 15, 1896, the son of Landon and Reilla Letchford. He was married to Caroline Sebastian on November 3, 1917, at Postville. The couple lived in the Frankville and Postville community their entire lives. He was a farmer and operated a general store. He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Postville.

Survivors include a son, Leon, of Cedar Falls and two grandsons, Leon, Jr. and Larry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline; one sister, Edna Bollman; and one brother, Leon.
